May 17th, 2010 Minutes
The Board of Town Trustees met at the office of the Marengo Township located at 4010 North State Route 23 Marengo, Illinois 60152 at 7:00pm.
The Marengo May 17th 2010 Township meeting was called to order by Supervisor, Steve Weskerna at 7:00p., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
In attendance: Steve Weskerna; Supervisor, John Adamson; Highway Commissioner, Jon Klick; Assessor, Becky Johnson; Township Clerk, Tom Kearney; Trustee, Bob Levin; Trustee, Eric Warmbold; Trustee, Ray Jones; Trustee, and Diane Baltazor; Administrative Assistant.

-Absent: None
Approval of Prior Month Minutes: After review of the April 19, 2010 minutes, Tom Kearney made a motion to approve the amended minutes indicating that the price of the weather radios cost was reduced to $29 from $33, seconded by Ray Jones. Vote of all ayes, motion carried. (5-0)
Recognition and Communication from Visitors: None
Monthly Financial Reports: The Board reviewed the Financial reports for PHR, Road & Bridge, GA, & Town .
Bill Submission, Review, and Approval: (by Consent) After review of the April 2010 bills to be paid by the Board, a motioned to approve bills as presented was made by Tom Kearney, seconded by Eric Warmbold. Roll call vote of all ayes, motioned carried (5-0). After review of several bills for May 2010 presented, Tom Kearney motioned to approve the bills as presented, seconded by Ray Jones. Roll call vote of all ayes, motion carried (5-0).
Reports:
-Planning Committee: Steve reported that McHenry County Board members have approved the 2030 Comprehensive Plan and recommended that Marengo Township should adopt it as well at the June meeting, which Trustees agreed should be done.
-Highway Commissioner: John stated garbage pick up this month included a 1500 gallon smashed tank in additon to the normal garbage. Storm clean up, and signs for water on the pavement were placed. Reclaimed the shoulders of roads, put weed killer around and straightened signs. Removed the snow plows from trucks. Went to Menards for a new side rail for the 6 wheeler. Did shop maintenance and clean up for Car Seat Safety Program. Cleaned fixtures and relaced 6 light bulbs. Took trucks to Botts for testing. Finished walking ditches. Painted guard rails on County Line Rd., Thorne Rd, River Rd., and Miller Rd. bridges. Attended Storm Water class at McHenry County College. Went to TOI Attorney Education Seminar in Bloomington. Took in 105 containers of paint from 115 people to recycle in May.
-Assessor: Jon reported tax bills are out, and he has received requests for tax abatements and to lower tax bills which he working with daily.

New Business: A request was made by Steve to approve the Budget and Appropriation Ordinance for Marengo Township Road District as presented by John Adamson, Road Commissioner. Tom Kearmey motioned to approve as presented, seconded by Steve Weskerna.
Roll call vote of all ayes, motion carried, (5-0). Becky will take the approved Road District Budget to the McHenry County Clerk to file.
Steve then presented the tentative buget line by line to the Board for Town, Assessor and General Assistance. Insurance cost, an assistant for the Assessor the unknown number of General assistance particpants were amoung the topics of discussion. Following the review of increase or decrease in the amounts required for the 2010/2011 fiscal year,Steve repoirted the Budget would be on the agenda next month for approval.
